There's nothing more exciting than a Friday night at Walmart with your parents. Can't you just tell by the looks on their faces?

Addicted
In the words of the great Sue Sylvester, "Let me break it down for you."
I am addicted to Glee. I wasn't. I had no intention of ever watching the show. The princess likes it. Lots of people I know like it. But I don't watch much tv and am certainly not home when it airs. But a friend at work bought Season One on dvd and begged me to watch the first dvd. It had 4 episodes on it. And that was all it took. Now I have to see what happens to the baby. I have to see if they take regionals. I've got a little crush on Finn. And I've gotta know what the next two songs they will brilliantly mash together will be.
I've been "Gleed". I'm just warning you. And now I get the dvds sent to me on Netflix. Someday I'll blog about the beauty of Netflix.

"Laugh Box"
Yesterday a student asked me, "Is it possible to wear out your laugh box if you laugh for 6 hours straight?"
HUH???
We had a long talk on what actually produces a laugh...stomach muscles, air, vocal cords...
Laugh box!!! Is that like your funny bone?

Vegetarian Update
I believe the princess has given up the vegetarian lifestyle. She's eaten meat at dinner the last few nights. Last night, as I was dishing up our plates I asked her if she was having meat. "YES!" was her reply. It's tough to be a vegetarian when you're such a meat eater. And well, she did go back for seconds on the meat last night! I suggested that maybe she could just be a vegetarian during the school day, but she sort of looked at me like I was crazy. I'm betting she'll be headed for the super-deluxe sub sandwich at school today! :) I love that girl.

Vegetarian
The princess and a friend decided they would try the vegetarian lifestyle. Yes, this is the same princess who is probably the 2nd biggest meat lover in our family (the king is tops by a mile), but they decided to give it a go.
But here's the kicker. They are only vegetarians during the school week! :) On the weekends they can eat meat. Good thing too, because a dancer needs protein. Hello!!!
During the week she eats peanut butter toast for breakfast and for lunch she gets a piece of pizza and picks the pepperoni off (something she'd probably do anyway since she's not a big fan of pepperoni). Dinner's are a little tougher, since we ALWAYS have meat!! And I did notice that Monday night she was able to overlook the fact that there was hamburger in the veggie soup.
Any bets on how long this will last?

7-Year-Olds Don't Get Me
I got to go on a road trip Monday and snuggle a new baby. Oh, the sweetness! I also got to pal around with a 2, 5, and 7-year-old. It was good times. But it became apparent that I've completely become a middle schooler. That is my mentality. That is my joke level. I bleed sarcasm. Unfortunately, my humor was lost on the 7-year-old. I ended up finishing nearly every sentence with, "I'm joking." None of this would be a big deal if I weren't about to spend several days with my favorite 7-year-old in Colorado. I'm going to have to try to lose a bit of the sarcasm before I leave!

Arrogance
Who knew you could pass high school on arrogance alone?
Apparently the prince did!
Me: Why aren't you going you studying for your finals?
Him: Because I'm going to get A's on them.
Me: You need to study.
Him: Nah...I'm going to have A's and B's in all my classes, and my science teacher even told me I'm guaranteed an A even if I flunk the final.
So I waited. Half of me hoped he'd bomb them and learn his lesson. Half of me hoped he pass and prove me wrong.
He passed. With flying colors. I can see now the error of my ways in high school. I spend far too much time buried in a text book when I should have been enjoying myself and living on faith in myself!

King's Fav
The king is sometimes amused by store signs and bumper stickers. This is his new favorite bumper sticker that he saw the other day:
There is room for all God's creatures right next to the mashed potatoes.

Builds, Baskets, and Girls, Oh My!
We went to a basketball game Thursday night. The prince wanted me to take some pictures of these buckets. I obliged.
Throw her up.
Throw her up.
Check out the look on the prince's face! Hee hee.
When we got home, he was less than impressed with my photos. Seems he wasn't interested in photos of himself but of the girls in the air.
So today we went to another game, and I shot these photos. The first 3 are baskets. The rest are builds.
Check out how high she is!

Year End Photo Review
I looked over the blog the last year, and decided to tide you all over for a few days with this photo review. I admit that there are some important events missing (my birthday, my trip to Vegas, the prince's new driver's license), but sometimes the photos wouldn't upload and sometimes there wasn't one to commemorate the event. Happy New Year, and here's to less time on the internet and more time making memories in 2011!
