I was shopping yesterday and heard a little girl (about 4-years-old) ask her mom, "What about a toothbrush? We could get a toothbrush!" She had just spied a cool princess toothbrush.
Mom said, "I don't think a toothbrush is a very exciting gift."
The girl was completely perplexed. I could see the wheels turning in her head. Then she said, "Oh. OOOOHHHH!" That's when she figured out, "Yeah, I really wouldn't want one for a gift either." They quickly headed off to the toy aisle.
My kids used to get electric toothbrushes in their stockings most years when they were little. What was silly Santa thinking??? :)
