Turns out what the crossword people were looking for was "dent" as in a dent of the car door or door ding. Kind of a stupid clue for that word but whatever. We finished the puzzle today. Yippee!
LOL! In all the years I've done the crossword, I don't recall every using "dent". I love the daily puzzles, but the weekend ones are too hard for me! (Too bad, I only get the Sunday paper!)

I thought I was a knucklehead because that was the first thing I thought of was a DING in a car door. Glad I was on the right track after all.
